Visiting Hours


General Visiting Hours

During the stay of a family member or friend, you are welcome and encouraged to visit. However, patient care is our primary concern at Wake Forest Baptist Health – Wilkes Medical Center and in order to enhance the quality of care, specific visiting hours and regulations have been established.

10:00 am to 9:00 pm

Intensive Care Unit/Coronary Unit (ICU/CCU) Visiting Hours

During the stay of a family member or friend, you are welcome and encouraged to visit. However, patient care is our primary concern at Wake Forest Baptist Health – Wilkes Medical Center and in order to enhance the quality of care, specific visiting hours and regulations have been established.

To provide therapeutic support for the patient and family while maintaining patients' rights, privacy and delivery of quality care in the critical care environment, visiting hours are as follows:
  • 6:15 – 6:45 am
  • 10:00 – 10:30 am
  • 12:00 – 12:30 pm
  • 4:00 – 4:30 pm
  • 8:30 – 9:00 pm

Immediate family only please, two people allowed in the room at one time.

General Guidlines for Children

  • Children under 12 years of age must be attended by an adult when visiting a patient room.   
  • No children under 12 years of age should be left unattended in a patient room or waiting room area.   
  • Visiting children should not exhibit symptoms of a contagious disease.   
  • Children under 12 years of age may visit critical care at the Nurses' discretion.

General Guidlines for Overnight Visitors

  • Visitors who remain past visiting hours must obtain a yellow visitors' overnight pass at the Emergency Room registration desk.   
  • The identification pass must be worn in full view of security and nursing personnel.   
  • Visitors are asked to remain in the patient room.
