Examination of kidneys, ureters, and bladder.
Do not eat breakfast the morning of exam. Follow the exam preparation instructions provided by your doctor prior to exam.
Exam time varies with patient condition. Exam will last no less than 30 minutes.
For any CT Scans, IVP’s, Special Procedures that involve intravenous contrast:
We must have a recent Creatinine (within 30 days) on patients over age 50, diabetic patients, and patients with known renal problems. If you have not had this labwork prior to arrival it will be done in the diagnostic imaging department.
Patients who are taking the drug Glucophage (Metformin) should discontinue use of this medication forty-eight hours after their contrast study. The ordering physician may want to give them another medicine to take in the place of this.
