Located just 80 miles from Charlotte, 45 miles from Winston-Salem, 45 miles from Hickory, and 35 minutes from Boone, Wilkes County remains an ideal location for those looking to escape the fast paced world of city living, while remaining close enough to commute for a night out on the town. For more than 80 years, Wilkes Regional Medical Center has provided high quality and cost effective health care to the citizens of Wilkes County and surrounding areas. Wilkes Regional Medical Center is owned by the Town of North Wilkesboro, managed by CHS, and governed by the Hospital Operating Corporation, a conscientious team of community leaders who volunteer their time. The 130-bed community hospital is also home to a 10-bed skilled nursing unit. A physician network has been established in coordination with CHS and we continue to add primary care physicians to this network. Offices with the network are located in our prestigious Medical Park Campus within ¼ miles from the hospital that houses 40+ physicians and other medical staff services. An office will be developed to meet the needs of the family physician. A full-time hospitalist program is available for those physicians that desire to focus on their out-patient practice.
