Quality Management

The Quality Management department functions to meet administrative and regulatory agency requirements so patients receive the best quality care at Wake Forest Baptist Health – Wilkes Medical Center.

Medical Staff Services

Coordinate the appointments and reappointment's of the medical staff. Information about the physicians' education, training, residency programs, licenses, etc. is gathered and physicians must be granted membership to the Medical Staff with approved privileges to practice before they can admit and care for patients in the hospital. Allied health practitioners must also be granted permission to practice in order to care for patients in the hospital. Additional information on quality of care must be gathered, verified, and reviewed at least every two years on each of these practitioners. This information is reviewed and approved by the Medical Executive Committee and the Wake Forest Baptist Health – Wilkes Medical Center Authority Board to make sure that patients get the best medical care possible.
