Tammy Love – Vice President of Business Development
Tammy Love is the Vice President of Business Development at Wilkes Regional Medical Center. Ms. Love has been employed at Wilkes Regional Medical Center since 1984, beginning as an exercise physiologist for the hospital's Cardiac Rehab inpatient and outpatient programs.
In 1987, she was given the charge to develop a Wellness Center Department that would house chronic disease management therapy programs, such as Cardiac and Pulmonary rehab, and Aquatic programs, as well as other wellness and fitness programs, including weight management programs, fitness and aerobic programs and community outreach programs, such as CPR and First Aid classes.
In her role at the Wellness Center she worked closely with other healthcare agencies and corporations to provide wellness/outreach programs in our community. She was instrumental in the design and development of the Wellness Center, which housed both Rehab Services programs and the former Wellness Center program, located on the West Park campus. She served as the Wellness Center Department manager for 16 years.
In the fall of 2003, Ms. Love was promoted to the position of Director of Marketing and Medical Staff Development. Her skills in marketing, promotion, and program development achieved through her experience at the Wellness Center, coupled with her clinical background and established relationship with our medical staff has facilitated a smooth transition into this position. Ms. Love was promoted to Vice President of Business Development in 2011.
Ms. Love received a double major in Biology and Exercise Science with a concentration in Pulmonary/Cardiac diseases from Wake Forest University. She is certified as an Exercise Test Technologist and Exercise Specialist from the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), American Heart Association BLS Instructor and Instructor Trainer, AAFA Aerobics Instructor. She is a member of the Association of Staff Physician Recruiters (ASPR) and of the Carolinas Association of Physician Services (CAPS). She has recently been appointed to serve on the CAPS Board of Directors for 2007. She is also a member of the Healthcare Marketing Association.
Ms. Love is active in community organizations. She is a member of the Vision 20/20 committee and serves on the Wellness Foundation task force. She also serves in an active role with our local United Way agency by serving on the Fund Distribution and Communication committees.
