WRMC and WPN Reach Agreement with UnitedHealthcare
Wilkesboro, N.C. (April 17, 2015) — Wilkes Regional Medical Center and Wilkes Physicians Network have a new agreement with United Healthcare, once again giving people enrolled in United Healthcare individual, employer-sponsored and Medicare Advantage plans in-network access. Wilkes Regional Medical Center and United Healthcare agreed to make the agreement retroactive to March 1, 2015, ensuring United Healthcare plan participants do not experience any interruption in their in-network benefits coverage for services received at Wilkes Regional Medical Center facilities and for our physician services.
“We are pleased to have renewed our agreement with United Healthcare,” said Gene Faile, President and CEO of Wilkes Regional Medical Center. “United Healthcare plan participants will continue to have in-network access to our quality physicians and hospital services and our care providers’ focus remains on delivering the best care for our patients.”
“Wilkes Regional Medical Center is an important provider of health care services for our region and this renewed network relationship lays the foundation for future collaboration on health issues that matter to our plan participants,” said Garland Scott, CEO, United Healthcare of the Carolinas. “Our continued work together gives individuals and families local access to critical health services.”
United Healthcare serves more than 1 million people in North Carolina enrolled in individual, employer-sponsored and Medicare health plans. Wilkes Regional Medical Center and the Wilkes Physicians Network serves more than 100,000 each year in our region.
