Urgent Care Hours Changing
9/24/2010
Officials of Wilkes Regional Medical Center have announced that they are
shifting the weekday operating hours for the urgent care center at West
Park in order to offer service 30 minutes later each day.
The new hours, beginning on Monday, will be 5:30-9:30 p.m.
For the first two weeks of operation, the hours were 5-9 p.m.
The Saturday and Sunday hours will remain unchanged, from 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
"We are making the change because we found that people were walking in
for treatment just before we closed for the evening," explained Gene
Faile. "This gives people a little more time to get to the center after
work or school."
Urgent Care of West Park is designed to be an alternative to emergency
room care after normal business hours for at the offices of family
physicians. Patients are seen on a walk-in basis. The center offers
treatment for ear infections, eye infections, fever, sore throat,
swelling, minor cuts and burns, sinusitis, bronchitis, or other medical
problems, offering basically the same level of care available through
the office of a family physician.
